Users of Google Calendar using a work account soon be able to view their personal appointments. This is possible on phones with Android 11 and with the permission of both the users and the admin.
Google Calendar in Workspace
Google recently rebranded its G Suite accounts for professional users as “Google Workspace” and an update to the corporate Google Calendar is coming today. 9To5Google has discovered that Google now makes it possible for Android 11 users to view their personal calendar appointments in their work calendar.

An important side note is that administrators of your Workspace account must first activate the function in the settings. In addition, each individual user must also give permission to display his private calendar in the Google Calendar in Workspace.
Google also emphasizes that the data with calendar events in the two Google accounts also remain strictly separate at all times. The company claims to use a security mechanism that is part of Android 11. In September, Google already announced that it would be possible to view your personal calendar in Workspace.
Work From Home
It’s a good thing that Google is making it easier for users with both work and private accounts to more easily check their calendar events. At the moment, the two types of accounts are still completely separate from each other, so there is no alternative to manually switching between accounts if you want to check appointments.
Now that we also live in a time where work from home is the norm for many people, work and private life automatically come closer together, and then you don’t want any unnecessary barriers when it comes to exchanging data.
